Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has vowed to create more memorable moments with the Basque outfit after penning a long-term contract extension.
The 22-year-old officially signed a new deal on Tuesday, July 15, which will keep him at San Mamés until 2035, despite attracting interest from Barcelona and several English Premier League clubs.
Speaking after the signing, Williams underlined his ambitions for the upcoming seasons, expressing a desire to continue building his legacy at the club.
“We have very ambitious titles at stake, such as the Champions League, what better than to do it with the club of my life, I would like to continue making history here at San Mames, with the fans and with my family.”
Williams also expressed his gratitude to the supporters, pledging total commitment on and off the pitch.
“I hope to respond to the maximum with everything they have given me, I hope to make them enjoy it as always.
“This is also for them, I’ve always felt a lot of affection towards me, I’m very proud of the fans I have,” he added.
Since breaking into the first team, Nico Williams has made 197 appearances for Athletic Club, netting 40 goals.
