Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has weighed in on comparisons with Manchester City’s goal machine Erling Haaland, acknowledging the Norwegian’s prowess but highlighting the key differences in their roles.
As Liverpool gears up for a massive clash against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday, Salah addressed the ongoing debate about his standing among the Premier League’s top scorers.
“I respect him very much, and we talked together once after the last match between us,” Salah said.
The Egyptian forward emphasized that Haaland, as a traditional striker, has an easier path to goals compared to wingers like himself.
“He is an attacker, for this his life is easier. I wish him success, of course, but his life is easier than me, because I play on the wing,” he explained.
Salah, who has netted 24 league goals this season, remains five goals ahead of Haaland in the Golden Boot race. With the title race heating up, their battle for supremacy continues to be a major talking point in English football.
