Moroccan star Achraf Bencharki has revealed that he rejected an offer of $700,000 from his former club, Al Rayyan, in order to join Al Ahly.
Bencharki joined the Red Castle in 2025 from from Al-Rayyan SC.
Speaking on the “Ramez Elon Masr” program MBC Masr, the attacker said he is happy at Al Ahly and will conclude his career wearing the red shirt.
He confirmed that Zamalek player Nabil Emad Dunga contacted him a year ago about a transfer to the Whites, explaining that he is aware of the sadness of the White Castle fans after his transfer to Al Ahly.
He pointed out that he would of course like to play alongside Ahmed Sayed Zizo again, after they played together at Zamalek for a while, explaining that he wishes Zizo would move to Al Ahly.
He confirmed that when he said in his introduction video, “Cairo has one colour,” he meant Al Ahly because of its fan base, explaining that he left the money out of love for the great team whose shirt he is honoured to wear.
Bencharki has made 14 appearances for Ahly with four goals to his credit.
