Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah expressed his relief and joy after scoring his first goal of the season in Olympique Lyon’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
“I needed this so much and I have been working hard for this,” he stated following the match. The 21-year-old forward’s decisive strike in the 54th minute secured the win for his team.
Despite facing challenges with limited playing time this season, having made only seven starts, Nuamah remains hopeful that his performance will lead to more opportunities on the field.
He reflected on his journey, saying, “I was out at the beginning of the season, then I came back into the squad. I’m so happy and proud to score my first goal and hopefully more will follow.”
Nuamah’s transfer to Fulham fell through on deadline day, and he has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League in the upcoming January transfer window.
His recent goal may bolster his chances of securing a more prominent role in the team.
