Guinea international Serhou Guirassy has shared his excitement following his hat-trick heroics for Borussia Dortmund against Barcelona.
Guirassy emerged as the hero for the German outfit, firing three goals to propel the side to a 3-1 home win over the Spanish giants on Tuesday night.
Despite the win, Guirassy and his sides have bowed out of the Champions League campaign after falling short on the quarterfinals, with Barcelona qualifying 5-3 on aggregate.
“I am proud of what we achieved today. Barcelona is a strong team, but we are also a strong team and we fought until the end and showed what we can do.”
“We played a great match and I think the fans are very happy to see a match of this quality. The 4-0 defeat in Barcelona was very difficult to make up for. It is a shame that we suffered from such a big goal difference in the most important match of the year.”
“This match will serve as a lesson for future matches, but we fought until the end. It’s great to be the top scorer in the Champions League (13 goals). There are great players, and to be first means I’m a good striker,”
“I can’t do everything by myself. I love scoring goals, and it’s a shame the journey ended today”
The 29-year-old has racked up 28 goals and provided 9 assists from 40 appearances across competitions for Dortmund.
