Algerian international Andy Delort has expressed regret over his previous departure from Montpellier HSC as he returns to the French club on loan from MC Alger.
The 33-year-old forward, who was part of Algeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning squad, is determined to contribute to the club’s success during his second spell.
Delort acknowledged the disappointment caused by his exit and promised to give his all for the club.
“I know that I disappointed a lot of people following my departure, and I have regrets,” he said.
“I never cheated on the pitch, I was always determined, and I always showed the rage that I had. I think I always gave my all.”
He continued, expressing his desire to make up for the past and bring success to Montpellier.
“And today, I am here hoping to bring everything I can bring on the pitch, to try to succeed in this mission which is going to be complicated, but I think that with this club, we can do it.”
Delort previously enjoyed a productive stint with Montpellier, scoring 47 goals and providing 21 assists in 106 appearances between 2018 and 2022.
