Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has shared insights into how he manages his academic responsibilities alongside his commitments to Barcelona.
The Spanish youngster of Moroccan descent garnered attention during the Euros for completing homework while participating in the tournament, highlighting his dedication to both education and football.
Yamal explained that his teachers sometimes adjust his workload based on his football schedule.
He noted that while he often receives varied assignments, his teachers are considerate during competitions.
“I go to class and every day I get different homework,” he said at the time to the Spanish FA. “Sometimes, they give me more to do at home, but I do it every day.
“If they see that we are in the quarterfinals or last-16 (in competitions), they don’t give me a lot of work, but on rest days, when he knows I’m not doing anything, he does tell me to do some bits and pieces.”
Yamal’s impressive performances on the pitch have not gone unnoticed. He has received several accolades, including the Golden Boy Award, the Kopa Trophy, and the Globe Soccer Awards for Emerging Player.
Additionally, he was a key player for Spain during their successful European Championship campaign, earning a spot on the UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament.
