German forward of Nigerian descent, Karim Adeyemi, has revealed that he rejected huge money to stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Speaking in an interview with WAZ, the winger said he does not regret turning down the lucrative offer to continue with the German Bundesliga outfit.
“I came to Dortmund three years ago, even though I may have had other, financially better offers back then. But I had a good feeling in Dortmund from the start because they gave me a chance and supported me. That was also the case in the winter,” Adeyemi said.
The 23-year-old continued, “Whether I would have earned more elsewhere was never a deciding factor for me, even if it was a large and prestigious club in Italy. That’s true. It’s not in keeping with my character to leave if things aren’t going well for half a year. That’s why I consciously decided to stay – and I haven’t regretted it, quite the opposite.”
Meanwhile, Karim Adeyemi says he wants to sign a contract extension deal with Dortmund.
