I believe in my team to beat Zimbabwe on Friday – Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos

The head coach of the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Hugo Broos, has backed his team to defeat Zimbabwe in their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

After being docked three points by FIFA for fielding an ineligible player in their win against Lesotho, South Africa has now dropped to second in the Group C standings.

The Bafana Bafana are behind Benin on goal difference but same points, 14.

Speaking ahead of his team’s encounter against Zimbabwe, Hugo Broos stressed that he has no doubt the Bafana Bafana will be victorious on the matchday.

“There are no doubts, there have never been any doubts from my side, and I will try to transfer this to the players at a meeting we will have on Tuesday [today],” he said, according to safa.net.

Hugo Broos added, “I believe in this group, and I am sure that they will do everything in their power to win that game on Friday. Why should we doubt ourselves now after our performances in the qualifiers?

“If there is a team that deserves to go to the World Cup, it is South Africa.”

The clash between South Africa and Zimbabwe will be played on Friday, October 10, and is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.
