Ghana international Forson Amankwah is determined to maintain his fitness and make a significant impact throughout the 2025/26 English Championship season.
After an impressive debut following his move from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, Amankwah’s progress was unfortunately interrupted by injury.
The 22-year-old midfielder managed just 844 minutes of game time across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign.
As Norwich City prepare to open their season against Millwall at Carrow Road, Amankwah is focused on staying injury-free and contributing fully to the team’s efforts.
“If you’re a player and then you get injured, probably you feel bad because you can see your teammates are playing, and you’re outside just watching them. It hurts especially when the team is also not doing well, and you hope you want to help,” he told Flashscore.
This setback has prompted Amankwah to reevaluate his approach to training and recovery — a challenge he has embraced with a positive mindset.
“I think I learnt a lot. It’s the first year, so it’s something I need to do for myself to prevent some injuries, so that’s what I’m working on.”
Norwich fans will be hoping the talented midfielder can build on his early promise and play a key role in the season ahead.
