Nigeria international Ademola Lookman is eager to move forward with Atalanta after a turbulent summer.

The former Everton and Fulham star starred as Atalanta secured a 3-0 Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt with Ederson and Charles De Ketelaere all scoring.

The win marked the club’s first under new coach Raffaele Palladino, who made his debut last weekend in a 3-1 loss to Napoli following Ivan Juric’s departure.

“It’s important to get the victory, especially a 3-0 away from home—it’s a really good result,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia.

Tuesday’s match also reunited the attacking trio that lifted the 2024 Europa League trophy, with Gianluca Scamacca back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

“Playing alongside Scamacca and De Ketelaere is very free and easy because they’re top-quality players. We just need to keep working and improving as a team, take this performance forward, and carry it into the league,” Lookman added.

Palladino has introduced a fresh attacking philosophy at Atalanta, emphasizing offense as the best form of defense.

“The Mister has a very clear idea of entertaining, attacking football, which is reflected in the goals we scored. Pressing and hard work are already part of the team’s DNA, and we must maintain that,” Lookman explained.

Paolo Di Canio, speaking from the Sky Sport Italia studio, asked Lookman about reconnecting with teammates and fans after his summer struggles to secure a move to Inter.

“You know, what’s happened has happened. A lot’s gone on. Some things people know, others they don’t,” the Nigeria international said. “Right now, the focus is on working hard for the team, winning games, and getting stronger every day. That’s what the team and I are concentrating on.”

Lookman and Atalanta now turn their attention to Serie A, hoping to carry this momentum into their upcoming home clash with Fiorentina.
