Hussein Masalanga: Young Africans goalkeeper linked with move to Geita Gold SC
Tanzanian goalkeeper Hussein Masalanga of Young Africans is the subject of transfer interest from Geita Gold SC, with the Premier League side exploring a deal for the 34-year-old. The experienced stopper, currently valued at around €50,000, has emerged as a target as Geita Gold look to strengthen their options in goal ahead of the new campaign.
Masalanga only joined Young Africans in January 2026 from Singida SC, moving within the Tanzanian top flight midway through the 2025-26 season. That switch reflected a step up for the Dar es Salaam-born player, whose form at Singida had earned him a move to one of the country’s most prominent clubs.
The keeper’s contract details at Young Africans have not been made public, but his relatively recent arrival means the club would be in a position to negotiate a fee rather than sanction a free transfer. Any agreement with Geita Gold would therefore likely hinge on whether Young Africans are prepared to cash in after less than a year.
Masalanga, born on 4 March 1992, has established himself as a seasoned figure in Tanzanian football, with his market value having previously peaked at €75,000. A switch to Geita Gold would represent another intra-league move for the goalkeeper, who has spent his recent seasons exclusively in domestic competition.
For now, Masalanga remains part of the Young Africans squad, with his future expected to be clarified as discussions over a possible move to Geita Gold develop.
