Hussein El Shahat etched his name into Al Ahly history by scoring the Egyptian club’s 700th goal in African competitions.
The forward struck in the 37th minute against Ugandan side Kitara FC at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, putting Al Ahly ahead in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup round-of-32 tie.
El Shahat’s goal marked a significant milestone for the Cairo giants, taking their total number of goals across African competitions to 700. It also underlined the club’s enduring influence on the continent, built over decades of success.
The Egypt international has already played a decisive role in previous continental campaigns for Al Ahly, and his latest contribution adds another notable achievement to his personal record.
Against Kitara FC, El Shahat did more than open the scoring. His finish became part of a defining moment in Al Ahly’s African history.
