Hussein Ammouta returns to Cairo to lead Al Ahly training

Hussein Ammouta has returned to Cairo and will take charge of Al Ahly’s training on Tuesday as the club begins preparations for its next fixtures after the international break.

The manager arrived from Morocco on Monday evening after spending his holiday there. He is scheduled to oversee the team’s next session as the coaching staff work to improve the players’ physical and technical readiness.

Al Ahly resumed training on Monday at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium after the players were given four days off during the international break.

The club will use the remainder of the break to prepare for its upcoming commitments, with particular emphasis on increasing the squad’s level of fitness and match readiness. Al Ahly are also due to play several friendly matches during the international window to help prepare the players for the games ahead.

Their next competitive fixture will be against Asyut Petroleum in the Egypt League Cup, also known as the Egyptian Capital Cup.

Al Ahly are in Group C alongside El Sharqia, ENPPI, El Gouna, Asyut Petroleum and Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

Egyptian league clubs will return to action after the international break for the opening round of the Egyptian Capital Cup before the Egyptian Premier League resumes at a later stage. The league will then stop again in November for another international break.

Al Ahly will travel to face Asyut Petroleum at Borg El Arab Stadium on Thursday, 8 October.

The match will kick off at 17:00 and will be broadcast on ON Sport.
