Hull City sign Mohamed-Ali Cho as Premier League spending spree continues

Hull City have continued their aggressive recruitment ahead of their Premier League return by signing French forward Mohamed-Ali Cho from Ligue 1 side Nice on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old becomes the Tigers’ 12th signing of the summer as the club look to build a squad capable of competing in the top flight after ending a nine-year absence from the Premier League.

Cho arrives with considerable experience despite his young age, having spent the past two-and-a-half years at Nice. He made 93 appearances for the French club, scoring 12 goals and registering 13 assists across all competitions.

His arrival provides Hull with another attacking option as manager prepares his squad for the demands of Premier League football.

Cho brings European experience

Cho has also gained valuable experience on the European stage during his career.

The forward made 13 appearances in the Europa League for Nice and has also featured in the Champions League during his time with Spanish club Real Sociedad.

Born in France but raised in England, Cho began his professional career at Angers, making his senior debut at just 16 years old. He subsequently became the club’s youngest goalscorer.

At international level, Cho initially represented England at Under-16 level before switching his allegiance to France. He has since represented the French national team at Under-21 level.

Tigers’ spending passes £75m

Cho’s arrival further underlines Hull’s determination to make the most of their return to the Premier League.

The Tigers have spent more than £75 million since securing promotion by defeating Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final.

Their summer business has included a club-record deal for Senegal defender Nobel Mendy as the club seek to significantly strengthen their squad ahead of their top-flight campaign.

Hull have wasted little time making their presence felt since promotion, and their early-season form has already provided supporters with reason for optimism.

Dream return continues

The Tigers made an impressive return to the Premier League, securing their first-ever top-flight victory over Manchester United in their opening fixture.

That result has added further excitement around the club, with Hull now looking to build on their strong start and establish themselves in the Premier League.

The signing of Cho represents another statement of intent from a club whose recruitment drive has already seen them invest heavily following promotion.
