Hull City match could decide Alvaro Arbeloa’s Fulham future

Alvaro Arbeloa is facing the possibility of being dismissed as Fulham manager after a poor start to the Premier League season.

The Spanish coach has been given what has been described as a final opportunity to save his position when Fulham face Hull City in their next league fixture.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Fulham’s board are considering ending Arbeloa’s tenure because of the team’s results. The club are bottom of the Premier League table and have yet to record a victory.

Fulham have played six league matches under Arbeloa, drawing two and losing four. Their next game is against Hull City on Saturday in the seventh round of the Premier League.

Pressure on Arbeloa has also increased after an independent commission examining a complaint from the Football Association fined him almost 30,000 euros.

The punishment followed comments in which Arbeloa questioned the integrity of a referee after Fulham’s match against Manchester United.

The fixture with Hull City is now regarded as a decisive test for Arbeloa, with the result potentially determining whether he remains in charge of Fulham.
