Hugo Sanchez hails Kylian Mbappe as world’s best striker
Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has lavished praise on Kylian Mbappe, calling him the best striker in the world right now and backing him to make history at the Bernabeu.
Sanchez believes Mbappe’s mentality and drive set him apart from his peers and can carry him to even greater heights in La Liga.
“I see him as a player ‘hungry’ to further transcend his achievements. I think he’s the best striker in the world right now, and if he stays healthy, I hope he continues to achieve great results with Real Madrid, which I would love,” the Mexican icon said.
Sanchez, who won five Pichichi trophies with Madrid, even hopes Mbappe can at least match his tally.
“I hope and wish he can match or surpass me, and that would be good for Real Madrid. If he doesn’t surpass me and win five Pichichi trophies, well, let him at least win four, the number I won with Real Madrid. Whether he succeeds or not, Mbappe will leave an indelible mark on the club forever,” he added.
Mbappe, 27, already has one Pichichi and leads this season’s scoring charts with 23 league goals.
