Hugo Ekitike reflects on bright Liverpool start with hunger for more
Hugo Ekitike has wasted no time making an impression at Anfield.
The French forward arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer and has already given Liverpool fans plenty to cheer about. With three goals in his first four matches, he has shown a sharp instinct in front of goal and an eagerness to grow within Arne Slot’s team.
Ekitike found the net against Crystal Palace, AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United before the September international break. In doing so, he became the first Liverpool player since Daniel Sturridge in 2013 to score in each of his first three league appearances. The achievement quickly sparked excitement, though Ekitike insists his focus remains on consistency and team progress.
“I think I adapted well. Obviously I still have things to improve, but I think it was a good start. I feel good with the guys, they helped me to adapt here so obviously they make my football easier,” he said.
“And when you play with good players like this, you can improve and you can have success like that. The most important thing is to continue to be consistent.”
