Hugo Ekitike is choosing faith over frustration as he looks ahead to building a stronger connection with teammate Alexander Isak after Liverpool’s 5-1 Champions League triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The French forward, who calmly netted the opener at the Deutsche Bank Park, believes the chemistry between the two attackers will eventually click.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Ekitike said: “We can improve together. He’s a very good player. In time, we have to work together – the links will come and then it will work!”

His words came after Isak’s difficult night saw him replaced at half-time, managing just two attempts on goal. The £150 million striker’s struggles have been a topic among supporters, who expected more firepower since his move from Newcastle.

Ekitike’s assured tone and selfless outlook reflect a player focused on collaboration rather than comparison. While his own performance shone brightly in a dominant Liverpool display, his belief in Isak’s potential partnership shows maturity and patience, qualities Liverpool fans will hope translate into goals soon.
