Houssine Kharja Linked with Steaua Bucharest Move
Morocco international Houssine Kharja is reportedly close to signing with Steaua Bucharest, following unsuccessful talks with Italian clubs Carpi and Ascoli Picchio.
The 32-year-old midfielder has been without a club since leaving Sochaux at the end of his contract. He was linked with a return to Italy—where he previously played for clubs like Roma, Inter and Genoa—but negotiations with newly-promoted Serie A side Carpi and Serie B’s Ascoli are said to have broken down.
According to Italian media, relayed by mountakhab.net, Steaua Bucharest, champions of Romania’s Liga 1, are now in advanced discussions with the former Atlas Lion.
Kharja, who has earned over 80 caps for Morocco, would bring considerable experience to Steaua, having played in France, Italy, and Qatar during his career.
