Houssem Habbassi: Tunisian winger joins Al-Minaa SC on free transfer from Al-Nasr SC
Tunisian winger Houssem Habbassi has joined Iraqi side Al-Mina’a SC on a free transfer from Al-Nasr SC.
The 30-year-old right-sided attacker, who prefers to operate on the right wing cutting in on his left foot, makes the move into the Iraq Stars League after a spell in the Gulf with the Kuwait-based club. He links up with Al-Mina’a as a free agent following the end of his time at Al-Nasr.
Habbassi has built a solid reputation in North African football, particularly in Tunisia’s top flight, where he has accumulated more than 120 senior appearances across league, cup and continental competitions. In Ligue 1 alone he featured 97 times, scoring eight goals and providing five assists, with further strikes coming in relegation and playout phases as well as in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Before his switch to Al-Nasr in January 2025, Habbassi played for US Ben Guerdane, having joined them after a stint with Al-Ahli. His career has also included spells at Club Africain, CA Bizertin, Stade Tunisien and CS Sfaxien, where he progressed from the under-21s into the first team.
Standing at 1.75m, Habbassi brings experience of both domestic title fights and continental club competitions, having appeared in the CAF Confederation Cup and domestic super cup fixtures earlier in his career.
Habbassi’s arrival on 20 July 2026 sees Al-Mina’a add an experienced, left-footed right winger to their squad on a permanent free-transfer deal from Al-Nasr SC.
