Hossam Paolo and Ahmed Timsah named in Egypt beach soccer squad for Africa qualifiers

Egypt are preparing for the qualifying campaign for the Africa Beach Soccer Cup, with former senior internationals Hossam Paolo and Ahmed Timsah included in the squad.

Head coach Ahmed Abdel Razek will take his players into camp from Thursday, 17 September, until 22 September as preparations begin for the upcoming competition.

Paolo, who plays for Samanod, and Ahmed Timsah of Kaskada are the most prominent names in the squad. Both players have previously represented the Egypt senior national team.

Paolo was the league’s leading scorer in two consecutive seasons, finishing top in 2014/15 and again in 2015/16. He and Timsah also played together for El Dakhleya and Smouha, while Paolo later represented Zamalek.

The 20-man Egypt squad is:

Mohamed Fawzi, Abdel Aziz Sabah, Mohamed El Sayed, Ibrahim Hassan, Hassan Mohamed, Haitham Atef, Mostafa Ahmed, Ahmed Shehata, Abdelkader Qadoura, Karim Sayed, El-Husseini Taha, Ismail Bahgat, Hossam Paolo, Ahmed Timsah, Mohamed Abdel Nabi, Abdel Rahman Shafie, Abdel Rahman Hamido, Mohamed Sayed, Hassan Shobky Issa and Ehab Ahmed Ali.

The African Beach Soccer Championship will be held in Senegal from 21 to 29 November 2026.

Two African teams from the tournament will qualify for the 2027 Beach Soccer World Cup in Brazil.
