Hossam Hassan: El Dakhlia bring in experienced Egyptian right-back from Baladiya

Egyptian right-back Hossam Hassan has joined El Dakhlia from Baladiya on a free transfer, bringing the 34-year-old defender back into Egyptian football with a new club.

Hassan completed the move on 15 August 2026 after leaving Baladiya, where he had spent the previous part of his career. The switch continues a sequence of domestic moves for the defender, who joined Baladiya from El Mareekh in November 2020, also on a free transfer.

A right-footed full-back, Hassan has recorded 11 Premier League appearances and two assists. He has also featured in the Egypt Cup and Egyptian League Cup, making two appearances in the former competition and one in the latter.

His recorded Premier League involvement amounts to 569 minutes, with his two assists coming during those appearances. He has played a further 64 minutes in the Egypt Cup and 19 minutes in the Egyptian League Cup.

Hassan began that earlier chapter of his career with El Mareekh after moving there from Domyat Club in July 2017. His arrival at El Dakhlia therefore represents his latest club change after nine years of senior football moves within Egypt.

The defender’s age and experience distinguish him from a young developmental signing, while his established position on the right side of defence gives a clear description of the role he will occupy at his new club. He has played primarily as a right-back throughout the available record.

El Dakhlia’s new player joined the club without a transfer fee, with the move registered on 15 August 2026.
