Zamalek defender Hossam Abdelmaguid has chosen loyalty over a move abroad, opting to stay with the club that shaped him.
Despite receiving five transfer offers, three from outside Egypt, Abdelmaguid has shut the door on a summer exit.
His brother, Islam Abdel-Majid, confirmed the decision, saying the player remains fully focused on Zamalek’s upcoming campaign.
“Hossam will continue with Zamalek in the new season, and there is no intention of leaving at the moment,” he told Kooora.
The defender has a valid contract with the Cairo-based giants and has become a key figure in the team’s backline.
“The player is bound by a valid contract with Zamalek and has received five offers, including three from abroad. However, a final decision has been made to close the case at this stage in order to maintain his focus at the start of the season.”
Zamalek fans can breathe easy for now, but his brother hinted at future talks:
“We hope to hold a meeting with the Zamalek management before the winter transfer window to discuss extending the contract and adjusting the financial compensation to suit his performance.”
