HONOR launches 600 Lite S with 7,700mAh battery and dedicated AI button

HONOR has officially launched the HONOR 600 Lite S, a durability-focused smartphone featuring a dedicated AI button, a 7,700mAh battery and a 108MP main camera.

The device is designed to combine long-term reliability with artificial intelligence features, while offering protection against dust, water and extreme temperatures. HONOR said the smartphone has been developed in response to growing demand for durable devices that can deliver consistent performance in demanding conditions.

Battery built for long-term use

The HONOR 600 Lite S is equipped with a 7,700mAh battery intended to support multi-day use on a single charge. HONOR says the battery has an expected lifespan of six years, helping to address concerns about battery degradation and frequent charging.

A multi-point temperature monitoring system is designed to maintain performance in conditions ranging from -30°C to 50°C. When the device does require charging, 45W HONOR SuperCharge technology is intended to restore power quickly and reduce downtime.

The smartphone is also built for six years of endurance, according to HONOR. It carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering protection against fine dust, high-pressure water jets and complete submersion.

An integrated Wet-hand Touch algorithm is designed to keep the display responsive when the screen or the user’s hands are wet.

AI button and MagicOS 10

The HONOR 600 Lite S includes a dedicated tactile AI Button, positioned separately from the power button. A double press opens the camera by default, including from the lock screen, while users can customise other gestures.

A single press can be assigned to launch applications, while a sustained press provides access to HONOR AI, AI Settings Agent, AI Photos Agent, AI Translation and AI Creation.

The phone runs MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, with integration for Google Gemini, Magic Portal and Circle to Search. Its AI editing tools include AI Outpainting, AI Upscale and AI Cutout. The device also introduces AI Image to Video 2.0, which converts still photographs into video clips.

Performance comes from the Snapdragon® 4 Gen 4 processor. The phone has 6GB of physical RAM, supported by HONOR’s RAM Turbo Technology, alongside 256GB of storage. HONOR says that capacity can hold more than 150,000 high-resolution images.

Camera, price and availability

The 108MP main camera is designed to capture high-resolution photographs and high-definition video, allowing users to record and share detailed images and moments.

The HONOR 600 Lite S will be available in Velvet Black and Desert Gold. It is priced from R8999, or R399 x 36 months.

The smartphone is currently available on MTN and will be available on Vodacom, Telkom and Cell C from November.
