HJK Helsinki sign Senegal winger Pape Ndir from CO Thiessois

Pape Ndir, the 19-year-old Senegal winger, has joined HJK Helsinki from CO Thiessois on loan, moving to the Finnish club for the remainder of 2026.

Ndir becomes part of HJK’s squad in the Veikkausliiga after making the switch on 18 August. He primarily plays on the left wing and arrives from Senegalese side CO Thiessois, with the move giving him an opportunity to continue his development in Finland.

The teenager has already featured in three of four possible matches during the current campaign, starting 75% of those games and playing 66% of the available minutes. He has not scored or provided an assist in those appearances, and has received one yellow card.

Ndir also recorded three appearances in the Viareggio Cup, playing 236 minutes in the competition. The tournament is one of the few competitions in which his recent career record has been formally recorded, and his arrival at HJK represents a move into Finnish domestic football.

HJK are competing in the Veikkausliiga, Finland’s top division, where Ndir will add a left-sided attacking option to their squad. His ability to operate as a left winger provides the club with a specialist option in a forward position, while the loan arrangement allows the Senegalese player to gain experience outside his home country.

Born on 11 January 2007, Ndir joins HJK at the age of 19. He is the latest Senegalese player to move into European football, although no senior international appearances are recorded for him.

The transfer links CO Thiessois with HJK Helsinki and is structured as a loan rather than a permanent move. Ndir’s agreement with HJK runs until 31 December 2026.
