The Confederation of African Football (CAF) continues to champion the growth of women’s football on the continent through significant investments and strategic initiatives.
This year’s CAF Women’s Champions League, set to take place in Morocco, will reward the eight participating clubs with substantial financial incentives.
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of USD 150,000 in prize money, reflecting CAF’s commitment to uplifting women’s football and ensuring the financial sustainability of clubs.
The total prize pool for the tournament has surged by 52% to an impressive USD 2,350,000, underlining the organization’s progressive approach under the leadership of Dr. Patrice Motsepe.
The winner of the competition will walk away with USD 600,000, the runner-up will receive USD 400,000, and the third and fourth-placed teams will earn USD 350,000 and USD 300,000 respectively.
Clubs that finish third and fourth in their groups will also benefit, receiving USD 200,000 and USD 150,000 each.
CAF’s broader vision aims to foster youth development, strengthen grassroots football, and create opportunities for boys and girls alike.
By increasing the prize money and visibility of its competitions, CAF seeks to elevate African football to global prominence while empowering women athletes to achieve excellence.
This initiative is a testament to CAF’s dedication to making football competitive, inclusive, and sustainable across Africa.
