Ittihad Tangier head coach Hilal Al-Tayyar has praised his players for their determination and impressive performances in the Moroccan top flight as the club edges closer to securing its place in the league.
With just two matches remaining in the season, Tangier need only one more win to guarantee survival in the top division. Despite the slim margin, Al-Tayyar has described the team’s current position as “almost miraculous.”
“No one bet on us reaching this stage while we are in this situation. We suffered a lot and resisted at the beginning of the season without any signings and playing outside Tangier,” Al-Tayyar told Kooora.
“We feel that we have almost achieved what we planned for, and we cannot give up on our dream and the dream of our fans to secure our place in the league, because that was the goal we planned to achieve.
The coach emphasized the team’s commitment to their survival mission, adding, “Our destiny is in the hands of our players, and we will not expect gifts from anyone. We are grateful to everyone who stood behind us, supported us and believed in our ability to achieve this bet.
Al-Tayyar insists that the outcome lies entirely in the hands of his players. “We’re not waiting for favours. We are grateful to everyone who has stood by us, supported us, and believed in our potential.”
Looking ahead, he issued a bold promise: “We promise that as soon as we return to play at the Grand Stade de Tangier, we will be a team that everyone will fear,” he added.
Ittihad Tangier’s next test comes on Thursday when they face Club Omnisports de Meknès on the road.
