High-stakes showdowns define survival in upper Egypt group

The fourteenth round of matches in the second-tier football league, Group 2 of Upper Egypt, is set to kick off on Friday, February 16th, with four crucial encounters determining the promotion to the professional league and the qualification for the Premier League playoffs.

Among these fixtures, Al-Tersana Sporting Club will clash with Al-Wasity at Al-Tersana Stadium, seeking victory to secure promotion to the professional league and qualify for the Premier League playoffs, while Al-Wasity aims for a win or draw to evade the threat of relegation.

Elsewhere, Nile Stars will face Al-Fayoum Governorate at Nile Stars Club Stadium, with both teams vying for the second spot in the group standings.

Additionally, Beni Mazar Club will host Telephones of Beni Suef at Matay Youth Center Stadium, both eager to secure three points to climb out of the bottom of the group.

Meanwhile, Tamya Youth Center in Fayoum will witness a clash between Tamya Youth Center and Maghagha Youth Center at the Journalists’ Club Stadium.

Al-Minya Club will enjoy a mandatory rest in the competition schedule.

Al-Tersana currently leads the group with 30 points, followed by Al-Fayoum with 20 points, Al-Minya with 19 points, Nile Stars with 18 points, Tamya Fayoum with 14 points, Beni Mazar with 10 points, Telephones of Beni Suef with 10 points, Al-Wasity with 9 points, and Maghagha Youth Center with 8 points.

These matchups carry significant implications for the teams involved, shaping the destiny of their seasons and aspirations for advancement in Egyptian football.
