What initially looked like a blockbuster summer move for Yan Diomande could now descend into a complex legal standoff, despite strong interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including FC Bayern Munich.

While RB Leipzig are reportedly dreaming of a fee that could surpass €100 million, the chances of a transfer materialising in the near future appear increasingly slim.

According to transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri, the highly rated attacking midfielder is caught in the middle of a serious contractual dispute involving his former agency, Maxidel, and his current representatives, Roc Nation.

At the heart of the issue are two addendums Diomande is said to have signed during his time with Maxidel, documents that could severely restrict any potential transfer negotiations.

Reports suggest that beyond a standard advisory contract, Diomande is bound by a private exclusivity agreement that remains valid until the end of his current deal with RB Leipzig.

This agreement allegedly grants Maxidel exclusive rights to handle all transfer-related negotiations involving the player. If upheld, it would effectively block clubs from dealing with Roc Nation without risking legal consequences.

The situation is further complicated by claims that the clause is extremely difficult to challenge in court. Any club choosing to negotiate outside Maxidel could expose both itself and the player to legal action, with the most severe outcome being a lawsuit for a serious breach of contract.

Adding to the uncertainty, a second supplementary agreement reportedly states that Diomande would be required to transfer his image rights to his former agency until January 2031 if the exclusivity terms are violated.

Such a condition would represent a major red flag for elite clubs, particularly those sensitive to commercial and legal risks.

If these contractual details are confirmed, it is unlikely that any top club would proceed with a transfer while the dispute remains unresolved. Interest from Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona and Manchester United has already been reported, but what once seemed like a summer bidding war could instead turn into a drawn-out legal saga.

With the latest revelation, Diomande’s future appears tied less to performances on the pitch and more to negotiations in the courtroom. Until clarity emerges, the prospect of a high-profile move to Bayern or elsewhere may remain firmly on hold.
