Algerian midfielder Hicham Boudaoui delivered an encouraging performance as OGC Nice secured a 2–0 victory away to Angers SCO, ending a difficult run of results for the French side.

Nice travelled to Angers seeking a response after five matches without a victory.

The win not only halted that run but also offered the team a measure of relief in their league position.

Boudaoui, who had spent several weeks on the sidelines since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, was handed another start in the lineup selected by head coach Claude Puel.

The midfielder had featured in Nice’s previous league outing, a heavy 4–0 home defeat to Stade Rennais FC, but was substituted at half-time during that match.

His return to the starting eleven against Angers therefore represented another opportunity to regain rhythm and confidence.

During the match, Boudaoui produced several promising moments in midfield.

The Algerian defensive midfielder was involved in driving runs through the centre of the pitch and made a number of key interceptions as he helped disrupt the opposition’s play.

His ability to break up attacks and move the ball forward contributed to Nice’s overall performance, as the visitors controlled large parts of the contest on their way to a two-goal victory.

Boudaoui remained on the field for the full 90 minutes, an important milestone after a period of limited playing time since the continental tournament earlier in the year.

The extended minutes allowed him to demonstrate his influence in midfield while also regaining match fitness.

The result provided Nice with valuable breathing space near the lower end of the league table after a difficult stretch of fixtures.

Ending the winless run could prove important as the team seeks to stabilise its season.

For Boudaoui, the match also comes at a significant moment ahead of upcoming international commitments.

With the national team scheduled to play in two weeks, the midfielder’s return to regular playing time offers a timely boost as he looks to rediscover his best form.

After weeks of frustration following injury and reduced minutes, the performance in Angers marked a notable step in Boudaoui’s return to action for Nice.
