The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has confirmed the departure of its Secretary General, Hervé Tété Agbodan, bringing an end to a tenure the body described as dedicated and highly professional.
His mandate will officially conclude on 1 September 2025.
Agbodan has been a central figure in the administration of Togolese football, contributing to the federation’s governance and the implementation of key development projects.
In its statement, the FTF paid tribute to his efforts, acknowledging his remarkable dedication and professionalism throughout his years of service.
The federation also expressed its gratitude for the role he played in strengthening structures and advancing its long-term vision.
Under Agbodan’s stewardship, the FTF oversaw several initiatives aimed at modernising football management in Togo, while also supporting the national teams and grassroots development.
His departure marks a significant turning point for the organisation, which has sought to combine stability with progressive reforms.
In the same announcement, the federation confirmed that Palanga Manabidédé Kobié will succeed Agbodan as Secretary General.
The appointment is seen as part of a broader restructuring within the FTF, with the Executive Committee emphasising the importance of continuity and smooth leadership transition.
The Executive Committee reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and continuing its efforts for the continued development of Togolese football, the federation stated, underscoring its determination to maintain momentum in both governance and sporting performance.
For Togo, the change comes at a time when football development remains a national priority.
With increased expectations surrounding the national team’s performances on the continental stage and ongoing efforts to nurture young talent, the role of Secretary General remains pivotal in shaping the sport’s future direction.
Agbodan leaves with the appreciation of his colleagues and the wider football community, who credit him with having been a steady presence during both challenging and progressive moments for the FTF.
His successor, Kobié, will now be tasked with building on that legacy, while also steering the federation through new opportunities and challenges.
As Togolese football enters this new chapter, the leadership change is intended to provide renewed energy and reinforce the federation’s ambition of elevating the game nationally and internationally.
The months ahead will reveal how the new Secretary General positions the FTF to meet those ambitions, while preserving the foundations laid by Agbodan’s tenure.
