Hervé Renard, the coach of the Zambian national football team, expressed confidence ahead of their first match in the CAN 2013 against Ethiopia. Renard emphasized the importance of starting the tournament with a victory, drawing parallels to their successful campaign in the previous year when they won the African Cup of Nations.
“The first match against Ethiopia is very important. It is essential that we start the CAN with a victory like last year. Many observers think we cannot win again and are not taking risks in their predictions. If we didn’t keep the trophy, it would just mean there were better people than us,” said Renard.
