Herve Renard praises Yan Diomande after Cote d’Ivoire victory

Herve Renard has praised Yan Diomande’s dribbling ability and defensive discipline after the Cote d’Ivoire winger impressed in the 2-0 win over Ghana on Thursday.

Diomande produced an excellent performance as his side secured victory, earning particular recognition from the national team manager for the quality he showed in possession and his work without the ball.

The young winger is expected to return to action on Tuesday, when Cote d’Ivoire face Somalia. He will then play against Cameroon before joining Real Madrid.

His performances during the international period are expected to attract close attention from Jose Mourinho. Diomande has been in outstanding form in recent weeks for both Real Madrid and Cote d’Ivoire, and maintaining that level could strengthen his case for a prominent role on the wings.

Should he continue to impress, Diomande could become a leading option for the Portuguese coach and could even replace Vinicius Junior or Arda Guler in the starting line-up.
