Hertha BSC weigh move for Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare

Ghanaian goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, currently with Hearts of Oak, has been linked with a move to Hertha BSC in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.

The 34-year-old joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics on 24 July 2024 and remains under contract with the Ghana Premier League club until 30 June 2027. There is no indication that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or with the player.

Asare has featured prominently for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances from four possible matches. He has conceded two goals and kept two clean sheets, with his involvement including 63% of the available minutes.

Hertha, who compete in Germany’s second tier, are the club named in connection with the goalkeeper. The reported interest comes while Asare is valued at €200,000 and has almost a year remaining on his current Hearts of Oak contract.

The goalkeeper is right-footed and stands 1.88m tall. His move to Hearts followed his spell with Great Olympics, but his current World Cup involvement represents the most recent competitive record attached to the rumour.

For now, Asare remains a Hearts of Oak player, with his contract due to run until June 2027.
