Hersi Said re-elected unopposed as Young Africans SC President for 2026–2030 term

Eng. Hersi Said has been re-elected unopposed as President of Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga), securing another four-year mandate to continue leading the Tanzanian giants into a new era.

The club confirmed that Hersi will remain at the helm from 2026 to 2030 after emerging as the sole candidate in the presidential election, allowing him to extend his leadership of one of East Africa’s most successful football institutions.

Hersi’s continued tenure comes as Yanga look to build on recent progress both on and off the pitch, with the club aiming to strengthen its domestic dominance and increase its impact in continental competitions.

Since taking charge, Hersi has overseen a period of transformation at the club, with Yanga improving their professional structures, enhancing their competitiveness and establishing themselves as a major force in African football.

The new mandate provides Hersi with the opportunity to continue implementing his vision for the club, including further development of the team, improved administration and strengthening Yanga’s position among Africa’s elite clubs.
