Atakora Lalawélé was named Man of the Match on Matchday 4 of the Swedish Allsvenskan league after a standout performance in Helsingborg IF‘s 3-1 victory over Norrköping IFK. The Togolese attacking midfielder played a pivotal role, scoring twice and assisting once.
Lalawélé opened the scoring in the 39th minute, added a second in the 52nd minute, and set up the third goal just after the second-half whistle (46th minute).
He expressed his happiness with his performance, particularly after breaking his league goal drought:
“I’m very happy with this performance. It’s true that I’ve already scored for the club in the Cup, but these two goals unlock my league goal tally, and this is just the beginning. This victory is a credit to the entire squad, and especially to the coach, who is doing a good job.”
The former AIK Stockholm player was substituted in the 84th minute by Henrik Larsson, allowing the crowd to give him a well-deserved ovation for his match-winning performance.
With this victory, Helsingborg IF now sits in 4th place with 8 points, just two points behind the leaders, Elfsborg. Lalawélé added:
“Our goal is to play a leading role in the championship and we are working towards that.”
It seems like the Togolese player is off to a strong start in the league, and his contributions could be vital for Helsingborg’s ambitions in the Allsvenskan this season.
