Heiko Vogel hails Sacha Banse as ‘the Burkina Faso N’Golo Kante’

Greuther Furth manager Heiko Vogel has praised the extraordinary energy of Burkina Faso midfielder Sacha Banse, saying he appears capable of covering every area of the pitch.

Banse’s tireless movement has made a strong impression on the German coach, who said he had sometimes been left wondering how the midfielder could be involved across so much of the field.

“Sacha is an incredible player. There have been moments when I have asked myself: ‘How is it possible for this player to be everywhere on the pitch?’” Vogel said.

To describe Banse’s ability to cover ground, Vogel referred to the well-known phrase associated with N’Golo Kante: “70% of the surface of the Earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by N’Golo Kante.”

He then explained why he believed the comparison also applied to his own player.

“That is exactly the kind of player Sacha Banse is. He does everything. There is always 100% of the surface of the Earth covered by Sacha Banse,” Vogel added.

The Greuther Furth manager also made clear how highly he values the Burkina Faso midfielder within his squad.

“I am happy to have him in my team,” he said.

Vogel’s comments underline the confidence he has in Banse and the importance he attaches to the midfielder’s contribution.
