Hednesford bring in England-Nigeria forward David Abimbola from Bolton B
England-Nigeria centre-forward David Abimbola has joined Hednesford from Bolton B, completing a move to the National League North club on 3 August 2026.
The 19-year-old striker arrives after a spell with Bolton B, where he had been part of the club’s pathway from academy football into the senior game. Abimbola joined Bolton B from Bolton Under-18s in July 2025.
He spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Accrington, returning to Bolton B at the end of May. His senior record includes 11 League Two appearances and one goal, along with four appearances in League One.
Abimbola’s move to Hednesford gives him a new club after his time in the Bolton system and his experience of regular football across England’s professional divisions. He has played as a centre-forward and is listed as a left-footed player.
Born in Liverpool on 19 May 2007, Abimbola is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria. He stands 1.86m tall and has a recorded market value of €75,000.
His first senior move away from Bolton came in January 2026, when he joined Accrington on loan. That arrangement ended on 31 May, with the forward returning to Bolton B before switching to Hednesford during the summer transfer window.
The transfer adds a young attacking player to Hednesford’s squad ahead of their National League North campaign. Abimbola’s previous experience includes appearances in both League Two and League One, as well as time with Bolton’s academy and reserve sides.
He now begins the next stage of his career with Hednesford after completing the transfer from Bolton B on 3 August 2026.
