“He is a very complete central defender” – Jonathan Tah praises Dayot Upamecano
German defender of Ivorian descent, Jonathan Tah, has spoken highly of his Bayern Munich teammate Dayot Upamecano, describing him as a complete central defender.
Tah, who joined Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window, has quickly become a key figure in the club’s central defensive lineup.
Speaking ahead of Bayern’s UEFA Champions League clash against Bruges, the 29-year-old highlighted what makes Upamecano stand out among the elite defenders in Europe.
“He is a very complete central defender, extremely aggressive. He is strong on the ball, I think highly of him,” he said.
Tah also commended the overall quality of Bayern’s defensive options, acknowledging his enjoyment of playing alongside his teammates.
“It’s fun to play with him – as is Minjae (Kim) . It was nice for me to see that there is such high quality in this position.”
With such strong competition and depth in central defence, Bayern Munich look well-equipped for their upcoming European and domestic challenges.
