Newly appointed Hassania Agadir head coach Amir Abdou has expressed his strong reliance on the club’s passionate supporters as he looks to steer the team back to its glory days in the upcoming season.
In an interview on local television, Abdou stated, “I accepted the challenge of coaching Hassania Agadir because I believe in restoring the club’s former stature.”
The Comorian tactician revealed he has been reviewing past matches and identified several areas in need of improvement.
“I’ve watched several of the team’s games on video and I wasn’t satisfied with certain aspects, but these will definitely be addressed,” he assured.
Abdou emphasized that a club with Hassania Agadir’s history should not be struggling to avoid relegation.
“This team has previously won the Moroccan league title. It’s simply unacceptable for Hassania Agadir to be fighting for survival like they did last season.”
Outlining his ambitions, Abdou said, “Our objective is clear — we want to compete with the top clubs and finish in the top five of the league.”
He also acknowledged the frustration of the fans but vowed to win back their trust.
“I fully understand the anger and expectations of our supporters, and I promise to give everything to earn their confidence.”
Hassania Agadir narrowly escaped relegation last season after edging out Beni Mellal in the play-off and subsequently parted ways with former coach Abdelhadi Sektioui on mutual terms.
