Ivorian left-back Hassane Kamara could depart Udinese on free transfer
Ivory Coast international Hassane Kamara could leave Udinese at the end of the season, with the Italian club reportedly unwilling to extend the defender’s contract as it approaches its expiry.
The 32-year-old left-sided player has endured a challenging campaign with the Serie A side, with injuries limiting his involvement and affecting his ability to establish himself as a regular starter.
Kamara had been hoping to cement his place in the Udinese starting line-up this season. However, a persistent injury kept him out of action for several weeks and disrupted his progress with the Friulian club.
Although he has recently returned after recovering from a muscle problem, attention has already turned to his future.
His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, and reports in the Italian newspaper Messaggero Veneto suggest the club’s hierarchy are not planning to offer him a new contract.
The situation leaves Kamara facing the prospect of leaving Udinese as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
Despite remaining part of head coach Kosta Runjaić’s plans and continuing to feature in the squad when available, the defender’s overall performances and influence have reportedly not fully satisfied the club’s technical staff.
As a result, Udinese appear reluctant to prolong their collaboration with the Ivorian international.
With only a few months remaining before the end of the season, there have been no signs of discussions between the two parties over a possible extension.
That lack of negotiation is widely seen as an indication that the club are preparing for life without Kamara beyond the current campaign.
If his departure is confirmed, the experienced defender will begin searching for a new club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kamara, who developed in the academy of Toulouse FC, has built much of his career across France and England.
He previously played for Stade de Reims, OGC Nice and Watford before moving to Italy.
Interest in his services has emerged in the past, with AC Milan reportedly monitoring his profile around a year ago.
Such attention could potentially open the door to new opportunities as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
