Harvey Elliott joins Valencia on loan from Liverpool until end of 2026-27 season

Harvey Elliott has completed a move to Valencia on loan from Liverpool, with the England international set to remain at the Spanish club until the end of the 2026-27 season.

The agreement was confirmed by Liverpool, who announced that Elliott would spend the remainder of the current campaign with Valencia. The move means the 22-year-old will continue his career in Spain after previously spending last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Elliott will also become a team-mate of Aliou Dieng at Valencia. The Mali international, formerly of Al Ahly, is already part of the Spanish club’s squad.

The transfer brings a temporary end to Elliott’s time with Liverpool for the current season, although he remains contracted to the Premier League club. He joined Liverpool in 2019 and has made 149 appearances for the Reds, scoring 15 goals.

During that period, Elliott has been part of a Liverpool team that won the Premier League twice. He was involved in the title-winning campaigns of 2019-20 and 2024-25.

He has also celebrated success with Liverpool in a number of cup competitions. His honours with the club include the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

Elliott’s previous temporary move came last season, when he left Liverpool to join Aston Villa on loan. His latest switch takes him to Valencia, where he will continue the 2026-27 campaign.

Liverpool’s confirmation of the deal stated that the loan would run until the end of the season. Valencia therefore becomes the second club outside Liverpool that Elliott has represented on loan, following his spell with Aston Villa.

The midfielder’s record at Liverpool stands at 149 matches and 15 goals since his arrival in 2019. His appearances have come during a period in which the club added major domestic and international trophies to its collection, including two Premier League titles.

His involvement in Liverpool’s success also includes the club’s victories in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, as well as triumphs in the EFL Cup and FA Cup. The two Premier League titles were secured in 2019-20 and 2024-25.

Now, Elliott will continue the current season with Valencia, who also have Dieng among their players. The Spanish side will have the England international available on loan from Liverpool through to the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.
