**Harrison Afful Named Best Ghanaian Player of 2014 at SWAG Awards**
Harrison Afful, full-back for Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer, was honored as the “Best Ghanaian Player of 2014” at the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards gala held this weekend.
Afful emerged ahead of notable contenders including striker Asamoah Gyan and midfielder André Ayew. Before his move to the MLS, Afful built an impressive career in Tunisia with Espérance de Tunis, where he won multiple titles, including the prestigious African Champions League.
The gala also recognized other outstanding talents across Ghanaian sports with the following awards:
