It’s notable that Hany Ramzy, the former coach of Egypt’s under-23 team and coach of the ENPPI club, has been appointed as the manager of the Belgian club Lierse. This move comes in the wake of the dismissal of Belgian technician Chris Janssens due to poor results. Ramzy had previously served as a technical consultant for Lierse.
The decision to appoint Ramzy as the new manager was likely influenced by the club’s current challenges, as reflected in their 14th place with 13 points in 15 games. The club, owned by Egyptian businessman Magued Sami, saw the need for a change to address the team’s performance issues.
In his new role at Lierse, Ramzy will be working with a trio of Egyptian players: midfielder Ahmed Samir Farag, defender Ahmed ‘Okka’ Said, and striker Mohamed ‘Dodo’ El Gabbas. The team also boasts a diverse squad with players from Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, and Morocco.
Ramzy will face the task of revitalizing the team and improving its standing in the league. It will be interesting to see how he brings his coaching experience to bear on the challenges faced by Lierse in the Belgian football scene.
