Hannover consider permanent signing of Equatorial Guinean midfielder Noël Aseko
Hannover 96 are reportedly considering a move to permanently sign Germany-born midfielder of Equatorial Guinea descent, Noël Aseko.
The 19-year-old joined Hannover from Bayern Munich last winter on an 18-month loan, with the club holding a purchase option worth €1.5 million. According to fussballtransfers.com, Hannover are leaning towards triggering the clause.
Aseko has impressed not only at the club level but also on the international stage. On Tuesday, he earned his first start for Germany’s U21 side in their 5-0 victory over Latvia, catching the eye with his dynamism, work rate, and composure both on and off the ball.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, could still play a role in his future. The Bundesliga champions are said to have a buy-back option, the fee of which remains undisclosed.
With Bayern recently pledging to prioritise youth development, Aseko’s rapid progress could tempt them to reconsider his long-term place at the club.
The youngster, who arrived in Munich from Hertha’s academy in 2022, may soon find himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between Hannover and his parent club.
