Hania El Hammamy and Amina Orfi set up all-Egyptian Qatar Classic final

Hania El Hammamy and Amina Orfi will contest an all-Egyptian women’s final at the Qatar Classic, while Mostafa Asal has also reached the men’s final in Doha.

The Qatar Classic concludes on Friday, with El Hammamy and Orfi meeting in a repeat of a final that will be contested for the third time between the two players in 2025.

El Hammamy, the world number one, overcame Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam in a five-game semi-final. The Wadi Degla player had to recover from a demanding contest to secure her place in the decider.

Orfi, the second seed, booked her place by beating England’s Jasmine Hutton in a match lasting only 36 minutes.

The Egyptian is aiming to win the Qatar Classic for the third time, having previously claimed the title in 2023 and 2025. Her meeting with El Hammamy will provide an all-Egyptian conclusion to the women’s event.

In the men’s competition, Palm Hills player Asal will face France’s Victor Crouin.

Asal defeated England’s Marwan ElShorbagy in the semi-finals, while Crouin advanced after beating Karim Abdel Gawad.

The final represents another opportunity for Asal to secure his first Qatar Classic title. He lost his previous two finals against Peru’s Diego Elias and England’s Paul Coll.

The women’s final is scheduled to begin at 17:30, with the men’s final following at 18:30.
