The national teams that have secured their spots in the 21st African Nations Championship CAN-2014 for both men’s and women’s handball will have to wait until October 9 for the draw ceremony to determine their opponents. The African Handball Confederation is set to conduct the draw ceremony in Algiers on this date.
According to a source close to the Algerian Handball Federation (FAHB), officials from the African Handball Confederation and representatives of the qualified teams will gather in Algiers to participate in the draw ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in the new conference room of the stadium on July 5th. The 2014 African Nations Handball Championship is slated for January 14 to 26 and will feature a total of 20 teams, with 12 for the men’s category and 8 for the women’s category. The qualified countries are as follows:
For Men (12 countries): Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, Angola, Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Libya.
For Women (8 countries): Algeria, Angola, Tunisia, DR Congo, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Senegal.
