The African Handball Confederation (CAHB) has officially announced the schedule for the 21st African Cup of Nations, set to take place in Algiers from January 16 to 25, 2014. The schedule has undergone reorganization.
In the men’s competition, the Algerian team, placed in Group B, will kick off the tournament against Nigeria on January 16 at the Harcha Hall. Subsequent matches for Algeria include DR Congo (January 17), Angola (January 18), Congo (January 20), and Morocco (January 21). All of Messaoud Berkous’ team’s matches are scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. in the Harcha room.
For the women’s competition, the Algerian team, playing in Group A at Harcha, will begin their campaign against Senegal on January 16 (2:30 p.m.), followed by a match against Cameroon on January 17 (1:30 p.m.), and DR Congo on January 20 (1:30 p.m.).
A rest day is scheduled on Sunday, January 19, with no matches planned.
Quarter-finals are set for January 22, semi-finals for January 24, and the finals (both men’s and women’s) will take place on Saturday, January 25. The specific times for the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals will be determined after the completion of the first-round matches, as per the African Handball Confederation.
