Hamzath Mohamadou not in a hurry to leave Dortmund

Rising star Hamzath Mohamadou has decided to continue his development at Borussia Dortmund despite strong interest from European heavyweights.

The 15-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Dortmund’s academy, with many within the club tipping him for a major future. According to Bild, his playing style has already drawn comparisons to Ousmane Dembélé.

Mohamadou joined Dortmund from VfL Wolfsburg in July 2024 and quickly made an impression, featuring in the UEFA Youth League at just 14 years old, where he also found the net.

His rapid rise has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid reportedly monitoring his progress closely. Reports suggest several sides are already willing to pay a transfer fee, despite his young age.

However, Dortmund appear to have secured a degree of stability around the youngster for now. Mohamadou and his family have opted to remain at the club, easing concerns over an immediate departure, even though a potential move in the summer of 2026 had previously been considered.

Currently under contract until 2028, the club is said to be planning a gradual pathway for his progression, with the aim of integrating him into the first team setup in the coming seasons.

For now, Dortmund retain one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, as Mohamadou continues his steady rise within one of football’s most renowned development systems.
